But I just noticed that--with earplugs in--my neck- & shoulder-muscles' vibration reverberates off of the earplugs and makes even more noise.So how much noise makes it worthwhile to put in the earplugs and turn-up the bass-fiddle of your upper-musculature?---even though it DOES cut-down the outside sound by 30 dB--- | |

| Have you tried earplugs? | | I'm a light sleeper so sounds definitely keep me up at night or when I'm napping. I did find a solution with earplugs though. It doesn't necessarily block out all the sounds, but it does make it seem very distant and consequently not irksome. I would just fall asleep right away. What about you? | |

| The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round... | | ...or the vinyl on the turntable goes round and round...I've been spending my time on youtube lately listening to records.[em]happy[/em]There are just TONS of videos that are of people recording their vinyl into a digital format, and I love the way it sounds.There's just something totally different about vinyl vs CD or MP3, and I've always thought the sound was so much warmer, that it has more presence to it. Plus, let's face it...I am old, and there are some things I like better the old ways.I LIKE analogue signals...your can compress the hell out of them and STILL get a great sound.Digital...well, there are just some things it doesn't do right.And if you are recording with tape, you can saturate the hell out of the signal, and it just makes it sound better.Try it with digital, and...well, it sounds like it belongs in an outhouse.So, since subscribing to a few youtube channels that are nothing but vinyl recordings, I have been immensely enjoying myself.Check some youtube vinyl out...you might be amazed at how it sounds.[em]happy[/em]

| | Do You Think Special Effects In TV Shows Are Too Loud? | | My wonderful husband loves to watch the sci-fi channel. Too much sci-fi drives me nuts, not because it's not interesting, but because it's too NOISY, and when certain lights come on and off, it flashes too, and assaults my senses. I have very sensitive hearing, and have a lot of problems with certain pitches. Certain shows he watches are impossible for me to tolerate. His hearing is not the best, so not only does he not hear the high pitches that bug me, but he can't hear the TV itsself, when it's at a comfortable level for me. Does anyone else think that the special effects in certain TV shows have gotten out of hand? | |

| do you snore? | | ofcourse we'll never know unless our family member will wake up you one night and tell us that we're snoring.:Dsnoring for some is cause of a tiring day and for some this is normal or an ill already.

| | In a deep depression | | Hi. I am not sure what to say. But I feel like I am seriously losing it. I am shaking like a leaf so it is hard to write this. I have so much stress. Illness everyday, stress from my teenage son, living on practically nothing, waiting to get approved for disability, car is not running, and this neighbor above me (I am in a apartment)making constant noise. Not music or anything but banging, stomping, slaming, well you get the picture. I cannot handle it anymore. I think she makes the noise to make me miserable. My complex office says "she is trying to be quiet" well that is not true! I have lived like this for the past 4 months since she moved in. I have one dream. To get out of here. If any of you can say a prayer for me to find a way to move, please do. I will appreciate it so much. I don't have any money to move with so that is the major obstacle. But when I get approved for my disablity then I will. I just wish I could get my deposit back from this place before I move out. But they dont do it that way. WHat I need is a miracle.
